How to rank up.

A question each of us ask when our genin characters find life to easy. Rather than require certain stats as prerequisite for ranking up, I allow any genin to take the forum wide Chuunin exams for the Leaf village and Sand village. These thing are in character based and checks of all typs will be made using rolls and knowledge. However, the Akatsuki village goes to the Cloister of New Clouds where fight to the death is supported to show who is boss. This isn't a tournament; D. matches in tourny form would be stupid. Instead PC will fight NPC.

The Special Jounin exam is similar to the chuunin exam, but in a sense "The Hunger Games" for adults in a less deadly mannor. The jounin exams are a single unit right of passage for shinobi; kinjutsu is allowed to loyal shinobi in a legal way. (Note: Forbiden jutsu include Multishadow clone since it's draining on chakra, and can be a double edge to use all of one's chakra for weak clones that a skilled fighter could destroy, but people still learn it none the less.)

Anbu exams are something unknown to the public, and only the Anbu and Kage are aware of those exams when, where, and what goes on in them. Letter Rank is no more than a sub title. That means B rank genin exsist, even S rank chuunin; this is done, because many characters in the naruto realm can use A rank technique as genin for some S ranks are possible. In awareness of missmatched ranks and letters, you're level searves as the limit to how far in the lader you can go. Many choices will be made that do not appear fair, but keep in mind reality. Naruto will be made example of often; however, not in a typical sense. Naruto is still a genin, but he uses the strongest ninjutsu there are, and even senjutsu. He is classified as an S rank Genin of the leaf. Now in the first part, Naruto's peak jutsu was Rasingan, an A rank technique. However Naruto's lack of training in other areas made him less than A rank. Infact his knowledge was seen as Academy level. Back then C rank intelligence with A rank combat placed him in low chuunin or high genin at B rank. Genin can learn S rank jutsu if they have the chakra for it, but not always will they succeed; Naruto trained for days, in what would be several bad checks for training in Wis or Intel. People who are smart, naturally gain better techniques easily, while hard workers used alot of time for a jutsu equally difficult.

This formula is typical, but if you're the type of person who avoids leveling up, sometimes Genin>Kage in those bad rolls. I'm not capping Genin's level, but if stats become very unrealistic I will place caps on individuals. It is important to keep moving forward, at any level; Kages rival Kages, and they need to keep up with each other in order to prevent invasion. While some people's physical limits stop, their mental caps can keep going. Seen by Granng Chiyo, her years of experience could place her wisdom, chakra control, will power, puppetry specialty, poision specialty, medical specialty, and acrobatics into a very high number no other person could rival. It is both important to study in ever stat as it is important to have a strong ability that separates us from the others. Who needs five Rock Lee in a wolf pack going out to fight a group of rouge shinobi? Who's to say it becomes difficult for taijutsu users, then all five party members become useless, as to say a Sakura came along instead of 3 extra Lee. It would change the fight, and could even work out better for the mission. Diversity is key; so use it in moderation.
